Searching for treasure in the Arivechi region of Sonora
Mexico is the largest producer of silver in the world. Most of this silver is produced by one company, Penoles at their Fresnillo mine in the state of Zacatecas.
The Quimbanazorra Mill near Arivechi was built with government help in 1984. It proved inefficient and was closed as the price of silver plummeted a few years later.
